A woman recently came in searching for something sentimental as a reminder of her grandfather who recently passed. Upon greeting her, she mentioned that she wanted something “sea-themed” to symbolize the connection her grandfather had to sailing. He loved the ocean and felt that it was a home away from home where he could escape with his thoughts and emotions.
I immediately thought of our Sea Bag collection. The woman began to tear up when I showed her the newest addition to our handbag line. The Mermaid symbol reminded her of all the amazing stories her grandfather told while they were at sea. She idolized the beautiful women in these stories and use to pretend she was a mermaid when she swam. She purchased the tote as a constant reminder that her grandfather is always by her side to guide her through rough waters.
